Deborah Elstein, Israel

Deborah Elstein was Coordinator of Clinical Research at the Gaucher Clinic in Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem from 1993-2016. She has authored >250 papers and book chapters with clinical observations and basic research, as well as having been involved in seminal clinical trials for new drugs for Gaucher disease. In addition, she has an interest in Late-onset Tay-Sachs disease and other Lysosomal Storage Disorders, especially Fabry disease where she was an Editor of the first textbook dedicated to this disorder. Since 2016 she serves as part-time contractor for Shire’s Global Medical Affairs team with a mandate for Gaucher disease.
