Madeline Collin, UK



Madeline Collin, now twenty-four years old was diagnosed with Type III Gaucher disease in 1996 and currently lives in Bath where she is studying for an MSc in International Development, Social Justice and Sustainability. Maddie recently graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc Hons in Social Sciences using her dissertation to research Brexit and how this is likely to effect UK-based rare disease patients. In addition to this Maddie is currently a member of the UK Gauchers Association board of trustees, which she joined in order to learn more about current issues facing Gaucher patients, involve herself in fundraising and represent type 3 patients at meetings both in the UK and overseas. Outside of academia, Maddie enjoys politics and current affairs, as well as horse riding and Latin & Ballroom.
