The last 10 years have seen an unprecedented increase in the number of published scientific articles, which has been accompanied by a sizeable absolute and relative increase (approaching 50%) of Open Access articles.  More recently, we have all witnessed the increase of predatory journals, which have misled researchers about peer-review and impact factor.

Some simple suggestions to improve the likelihood of acceptance for submitted manuscripts will be presented.
